Breeders Cup Betting – Stay Thirsty Could Threaten The Favorites At Churchill Downs

It’s almost time to get ready for Breeders Cup betting picks, and there are a few horses that will get most of the attention from horse betting players, such as Uncle Mo, Harve De Grace, Flat Out and Tizway. But outside of the favorites stands Stay Thirsty, and given the roll he is on, there is no reason why he can’t pull off the upset.

Admittedly, Stay Thirsty doesn’t have a good record at Churchill Downs, site of the Breeders Cup Classic, as he finished fifth in last year’s Breeders Cup Juvenile, and then he came in a disappointing 12th in the Kentucky Derby. But your price per head bookie may prefer to look at his most recent results, which are definitely encouraging. After the Derby, Stay Thirsty came in second in the Belmont Stakes, he won the Jim Dandy and Travers Stakes races at Saratoga, and then he finished third at the Jockey Club Gold Cup behind Flat Out and Drosselmeyer. Distance doesn’t seem to bother Stay Thirsty as his last two starts have been at 1 ¼ miles, which is the length of the Classic and he has a win and a third-place to show for it.

If you want some value, you could do much worse than Stay Thirsty, who gets stronger as the race goes on. If he can avoid trouble out of the gate and get into a rhythm, he’ll pay off nicely, even for UFC fans moonlighting as horse bettors.
